Suit yourself - OH Tarot

The most interesting Christmas present I had was ‘The Alcohol Tarot’’ very festive and a perfect, thoughtful gift!

I have asked the website http://www.beertartot.com/ if I can give them a mention. Pending that… cos they are still probably in the pub, I will UFN. But it is a good site...check out the Empress video clip!

How good is it to give a read in a light-hearted manner when you’re down the pub? I have given some of my best reads there.

The suits are beer, lager, wine and spirit.

Although the instruction card informs you that Beer is wands; Lager cups, spirits swords and wine, coins. Err I had got stuck in straight away (who reads instructions?) and decided:
Spirits were fire/wands – fire water!
Wine – water/cups – drink a cup of wine my dear; definitely a girly thing;
Lager – air/swords – well it is gassy; and
Beer – earth/disks – think of all those barrels.

So I suited myself and they work.
I have done this with other packs such as the Witches which appear to have wands as an air suit…wings pictured on the wands.

Suit yourself!

The majors – here’s a few to whet your whistle:

The Tower – fantastic – after a Victor Meldrew moment – go down the pub called the Tower - what else can you do?
The High Priestess – so she’s had a few and now a straight talking girl, what more truths from her mouth do you want? She is your friend;
Temperance – time to sober up and rid yourself of that hangover. Rise above it all, the only non alcohol card in the pack!

They work. Cheers!

PS in the spirit of the website etc - do avoid excessive consumption if alcohol - you can't see the
cards...

Shhh solstice - time to lighten up

On the run up to Christmas I conversed with several people (who I don't know) grumbling about the commercialisation of Christmas as I did my shopping. Without prompt each individual commented that they preferred the Solistice. I said 'me too'. I was surprised how many 'ordinary' people seem to cherish that very seasonal day.

Just don't tell the marketeers or we will find that all plasticised, hyped up and starting from the autumn equinox.

How the Solstice is calculated? (from Elfin Dairy):
The earliest sunset was on the 12th December 2009 and the latest sunrise was on 31st. Between them lies the solstice. 21/12/09. This marks the start of winter.
So the mornings got darker and darker until the end of December. It's only now that days are becoming brighter.
