Why I suggested that tarot reading could be done using the first six cards.

Looking at the first 6 points of the tree of life, the first 3 "lock" into the next forming a complete solid shape just like this crystal.

That leaves the next 4 points redundant. ... but let me know!

If you have found readings are perfectly possible with only the "six of the best" set, now try reading using the last six cards IE
World, Judgement, Sun, Moon Star and Tower plus pip cards 5 to 10 of each suit. I think this will be much more difficult.

You ask about Court cards.
When using the first 6, characters can easily be defined using the majors (Fool - child like, Magician - a crafty person, High Priestess - a secretive person, Empress and Emperor - Mum and Dad types plus the Pope everyone's helpful uncle). What they do will reveal itself from the elements of the pips that come out in the read.

If you are already a tarot reader, try this...

Take out the first six cards of the majors (IE Fool, Magician, High Priestess, Empress, Emperor and Pope).
Take out the first six cards of the suits (IE Ace to six of Wands, Cups, Swords and Coins).

Put them together to make a deck of 30 cards.

 Now just use these in readings.

Keeping it simple makes it a lot easier - let me know how you get on.
