The Root Cause?

Complementary Therapists are always supposed to look for the 'Root Cause' of the imbalance with the client. Imagine someone keeps getting colds, the immunity is therefore low. Therapists try and treat the 'why' (why is the immunity low) rather than the symptoms (colds). This can be quite often emotionally derived (or the mind pretending to be the centre of emotions - see next post).

This simple example explains what it all means:

As a child, my daughter, very adverse to the brush, had long tangly hair.

Each time the hair needed to be brushed, she would complain that her scalp hurt (and then ran away).

ouch..........

That however was not the root cause but rather the knots near the hair end.

Therefore in this case -

the roots were not the root cause but the knots were the cause!

Got it?

Life the universe everything – or how healing works.

I have looked at nature, glean bits from everywhere to postulate a completely non-scientific theory – let’s call it "the theory of ludicrosity".
Otherwise known as ‘why we have to go weirdo to heal’.

Taken from the Cabbala. (It’s the only bit I know except that the Tarot and various World religions are derived from it see a later post soon).

The ancients saw the universe as comprising of 2 energies. Ring Pass Not and Ring Cosmos. One equates to the expanding universe, the other the contracting. We, life and everything live in the area between the two. (Just like we live above the sea but below the sky).

Nature showed them this…the diagram shows how they may have arrived at this conclusion. Straight from nature. Looks just like a gyroscope if you can see through my terrible drawings!

Let’s put on a few more things onto this… How about states of matter (remember those chemistry lessons?), astrological elements, Mind body spirit. Try it with a few other things.

Now what about us? Here were are:
The upright circle is unique and personal. The transverse energies are all shared.
Notice how the mind and body are individual. People are born, they die but ‘birth and death’ are shared by all. We have our own thoughts but everyone thinks. Our bodies cannot share the same space (OK try it if you must!) Get the idea?

How to heal – get past the mind. The worrier. This is where psychoneuroimmunology comes in…. (Mind affects the body)

So add plenty of weirdo stuff in to distract our thoughts and hey presto...healing.

Even better with that ‘ah bisto’ effect of aromatherapy. By pass the mind and get to balance out the body.
Balance and Protection
Energy is 'motion'. Motion is by its very nature moveable. This is up and down. If it didn't move we, life and everything would not exist. On a smaller scale, we as humans need the motion otherwise we would either never sleep or never awake! Because it goes up and down, this energy may be seen to be 'positive' and the opposite, 'negative'. It is when this motion gets out of balance. That is too much or too little for the current need (like a gyroscope wobbling) that we may become ill. As everything has its energy, one person can affect another. The 'wobbling gyroscope' has a 'knock-on domino' effect. This requires protection from it. Remember this works both ways indicating why therapists need to be 'in good spirits' themselves when they are conducting therapy. The healing power being the balancing effect that good, sound energy provides.

Proof? - What makes you feel better….
a) Being with miserable people
b) Being with happy folk?

It’s the way of the World. We have one choice in life – sad or happy. Which is it for you? We need a non-involved person, a ‘therapist’ to kick start us out of whatever miserable rut we have got ourselves into.
The question is: Is there such a thing as a glut of happiness?
