The Pleiades are go and so much more
Heralding the magnificent Orion, the Pleiades can be seen in the eastern, (just north east) in the evening sky.
But, hey, better still – so I am glad I waited to post this
–
Beneath it is the bright star Aldebaran, the eye of the Bull.
And when I saw this a few days ago, there was a third
bright object below it. It was the comet Lemmon.
Now, a few days later the comet has moved northerly heading
toward the plough. I even saw its tail.
You can see Saturn too
An easy way to spot these:
Face east after around 10pm - East is where the Sun rises;
Straighten your arms in front to you, palms up;
Widen the distance of your hands and arms to 60 degrees (that
is 11 and 1 on a clock face);
Raise your arms as if your face was at the centre of the
clock;
Saturn is on your right hand, the Pleiades, on your left.
(all subject to the weather!).
