The Odd Tarot couple(s)

Musing about the elements of the Tarot Court cards...

Each of the 16 Tarot court cards comprises two parts.
The element of the suit and the element of the royal family.

Four cards are relatively pure elemtentally: (regardless of what name you give them. And I am aware that some decks swap elements of suits - so you can work that one out). This is the usual arrangement:

Knight of Wands (fire of fire)
Queen of Cups (water of water)
King of Swords (air of air)
Princess of Disks (earth of earth)

The remaining 12 can then be paired up:

Knight of Cups with Queen of Wands (both comprise fire and water): What a mix!

Knight of Swords with King of Wands (both comprise fire and air). Great sparring partners I reckon);

Knight of Disks with Princess of Wands (both comprise fire and earth): She will find him a bit of a bore no doubt but he will save her from herself;

Queen of Swords with King of Cups (both comprise air and water): She may well be immune from his emotional manipulations.

Queen of Disks with Princes of Cups (both comprise water and earth): A nicely nurturing relationship.

King of Disks with Princess of Swords (both comprise air and earth). He would pay for all her fashionable spending!

It seems to me that whilst the elements are shared, their personalities differ greatly.
What do you think?
