Mercury Retrograde – It’s gone over my head
The retrograde motion of a planet is one that appears to go into reverse as viewed from Earth. It’s much the same thing as if you were driving faster in your traffic lane than the neighbouring car, which if is travelling at a slower speed. Seems to go backwards.
Mercury goes retrograde about four times a year, each for
approximately three weeks. It is doing that as I write. (from 21st
April to 15th May 2023)
Mercury being the planet of communications means that
things go wrong or are delayed. Missed appointments etc. Here is an exquisite example
of that:
My chimney was showing signs of a leak. I had accepted a quote
for the work just before the retrograde and was witing for an appointment to be
made. This was booked for Friday 28th April.
Oh, unsurprisingly they didn’t turn up.
It was a bank holiday on the Monday, so I phoned their office
Tuesday to discover the roofers had attended and completed the work but at a
different address (of the same road name) in a different town. This was much to
the bemusement of the householder!
I had to laugh this one off…
Pending a new appointment for work via the office, it was
another bank holiday Friday 5th (King Charles III Coronation weekend), surprise surprise they turned
up out of the blue and did the work.
Lucky I was in.
It’s crazy.
King Charles III gets crowned, I get my chimney fixed.
PS I don't think the Royals consulted an astrologer for the coronation date. Just after an eclipsed full Moon and with Mercury retrograde. I'd have waited for mid May's new Moon and a Juptier transit over Charles' Moon.
