A Warm Welcome

Ever had cold hands? Not too good for hands on therapy!

Here’s what you can do before the appointment…and what not to bother with…
30 minute vacuum and dusting workout – too tiring and you may not have the time;
Run hands under the hot tap – you do need to wash your hands but they instantly freeze up again.

Try this: use a hot pack (2 minutes in the microwave) even with cold hands, a moment holding the pack will transfer the heat from your palmer surface onto the client. Your hands may still feel cold but they won’t be. If you are doing massage, start off single-handed and keep swapping over in between effleurage strokes.

Apart from using hot packs in sports massage, this is a trick I learned with experiencing a hot stone massage – they do the same thing but are a lot more expensive.
