Saturn
makes its return home - Wow!
One never quite knows what the Saturn return will bring but you do
know it is going to have lasting effects. This is when the planet arrives back
in the same place as at the time when you were born. This happens about every
28 years. The first return is said to be about finding your own individuality.
Your very own “astrological key of the door” is granted – err could be a
prison door but which side are/were you on? The second, when you are in your
late 50s, is supposed to bring wisdom. Or perhaps it is time to look back and
take account of what you have done wrong – or right! It is certainly the
planet of karma. What you put out, you get back.
My personal 2014 indicated a fresh start in almost everything. For my
solar return in the spring, like the Sun, the Moon was in exactly the same
place as my birth Moon. Mercury, Venus and Jupiter were in the same signs as my
birth planets.
Mars differed being in Libra and not in Taurus, so a change of energy
here was indicated. (Hopefully more refined this time being conjunct my birth
Neptune too.)
Saturn is transiting Scorpio and is in exactly the same place now…with
its apparent retrograde (reverse) motion, it is effective all year long.
Uh oh the dreaded Saturn return!
So with the year in its last throes, what happened?
Two of Saturn’s many features are that of Fatherhood and learning at the
school of “hard knocks “. The year began with my absent father becoming even
more absent with his passing. His long term absence taught me self-reliance and
self-determination as I never had any “back-up”. Whilst I did nominally consider myself to be master
of my own destiny throughout my life, it was this year that proved it.
By the spring I was freed up from various commitments and was ready for
change just as the planets had promised. With the clock reset, I could finally
move and retire properly. At last I was in charge of my own destiny.
I searched for a property and phoned estate agents. Before that I pulled
out a tarot card for each. One was the Fool card…
The house was not right for me but the agent suggested I look at another
one just on the market. Okay, I’ll be fool-like and open to experience.
Yes, this was the one – even before I walked through the front door. Either
side of the front door there is a plaque and a tile, one with the astrological
signs and one of the Virgin Mary – (symbolically very Empress like in nature).
Perfect!
I moved in, surprisingly smoothly. The walls are solid as a rock (Saturn
again), they even had to be drilled to put my pictures up. This home is going
to last.
When I had time, I looked more closely at the plaque and tile. There was
something odd about the plaque – Oh yes; its rising sign was Cancer – that is
my rising sign! The astronomical wheel
usually begins with Aries. And on researching the tile, “Virgen del Rocio”, I discovered
that it is now acknowledged as the Virgin Mary but was once known as “Our Lady
of Remedies”. Even more a wow factor in that all this reflects me.
In the nicest possible way, I have certainly learned my lesson this
year:
If you want something doing, you have to do it yourself. I will continue
through life with that always in mind.
What of my peers also going through their Saturn return?
Out of three – one is on the up, another not affected at all and the
other...oh dear.
